Ages 6 to 11
The spiritual education of children is of paramount importance as obligated to Bahá’ís. The Bahá’í community offers classes to serve its children and children from the Oshawa interested families. These classes are taught by Bahá’í volunteers and are offered regularly throughout the school year. The Teachings of Bahá’u’lláh form the basis of these classes and introduce the Bahá’í Teachings and those of other Messengers of God, with an emphasis on moral and character development, learning to think, to reflect and to apply spiritual laws to the life of the individual and society.
Instruction is intended to nurture spiritually vibrant and healthy young people who will grow up without prejudice and with a strong sense that they are important to God and have a role to play in serving humanity. Especially during the early years of childhood, great attention is given to the development of spiritual qualities and to those beliefs, virtues and behaviors that constitute the essential attributes of a spiritual being.
Neighbourhood Children’s are classes committed to bringing out the spiritual qualities of children through stories, music, crafts and service projects.
Based upon the Bahá’í concept that children are a “mine rich in gems” we will be learning together about ways to understand and practice the following principles and qualities;
Respect, Trustworthiness, Kindness, Justice, fair mindedness and Service.
We invite your children to join ours to participate in these classes; parents and youth are also welcome to be involved.
